Established in 2015, EdNavigator is a national nonprofit organization focused on empowering busy parents and caregivers to enhance their children's educational journeys. We partner with prominent pediatric healthcare providers to address the intersection of health and education, particularly for children from families encountering economic, cultural, or linguistic barriers to quality educational resources. Through innovative collaborations, pediatricians and primary care providers connect families with expert Navigators who offer personalized guidance and support for school enrollment, special education navigation, and various educational hurdles. EdNavigator serves three regions, positively impacting over 500 families each year. Position: Navigator for Special Education

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful, proactive, and meaningful educational guidance and support.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families and educational institutions through effective communication.
  • Engage in critical school meetings with families via video or phone.
  • Develop practical solutions for families and students facing educational challenges.
  • Establish effective routines to manage students' educational requirements.
  • Keep comprehensive records of interactions with families in EdNavigator's data management systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, events, training sessions, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Assist colleagues with various aspects of EdNavigator's operations as needed.
  • Support a minimum of 140 families annually in successfully addressing their educational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish (*REQUIRED)
  • Thorough understanding of special education policies and procedures.
  • Adaptable, curious, and eager to learn.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and approachable.
  • Self-motivated and effective in a remote work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
  • Well-organized with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency for achieving goals.
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback to foster organizational growth.
  • Passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficient in technology tools such as Slack, Dropbox, MS Office, and Google applications.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with necessary documentation.

  • Annual salary of $78,750 with a potential performance-based bonus of up to 15%.
