Job Summary

Civitas Education Partners is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic success and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement research-based curriculum and instructional models to promote student academic progress and achievement.
  • Lesson Planning: Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Classroom Management: Establish clear and positive learning standards and expectations for all students, and maintain a well-organized and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student performance at frequent and regular intervals, and use formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with students, staff, parents, and other stakeholders, and collaborate with colleagues to implement school-wide initiatives and improve student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educators License (PEL) with an Elementary level designation, and LBS1 Endorsement (K-12 or K-8).
  • Experience: Experience working with students with special needs, and knowledge of Special Education law and protocols.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
