About the Role

The Run of Show Manager, Operations, plays a pivotal role in the success of each event at Avant Gardner. This position supports the operations management team, ensuring the smooth execution of venue management during run-of-show. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Director of Operations
  • Performing and prioritizing assigned duties to support venue operations and overall business objectives
  • Advancing departmental needs, including logistical items with facilities, staff meal tickets, guest drink tickets, etc.
  • Ensuring all employees have the necessary tools and information needed to perform their duties for each event
  • Managing all ROS operations, ensuring the safety and security of employees and guests are held to the highest standards
  • Developing strategies and methods to increase overall processing and performance of an event or future events
  • Organizing workflow, traffic flow, etc., as needed, to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Providing feedback, coaching, and counseling, when appropriate
General Duties & Responsibilities

All managers are responsible for providing necessary support and actions to ensure the safety and security of the venue, its staff, and guests. Key responsibilities include:

  • Pre-event walkthrough: Ensuring appropriate signage is posted around the venue, coordinating with operations admin for missing or damaged signs
  • Clearing all floors of debris, addressing any safety hazards immediately
  • Ensuring security items are in place, including pass sheets in appropriate locations and security signage posted
  • Leading pre-shift meetings
  • Managing employee breaks
  • Sweeping the venue for medical and security calls
  • Ensuring operations at all points of entry are running smoothly
  • Ensuring coat check is running smoothly, assisting coat check staff as necessary
  • Assessing lines throughout the event, restructuring as needed for efficiency, safety, and security
  • Post-Show: Shutting down AC/heating systems and checking all fire points
  • Ensuring patrons have exited the venue; all areas are shut down and closed/locked up properly
  • Completing End of Day Report
  • Filling out any necessary incident reports
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-4 years of working experience in venues, stadiums, arenas, hospitality industry, or equivalent
  • 1 year of management experience required
  • Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments
  • A positive, upbeat leadership style; able to problem solve under pressure while maintaining a high degree of professionalism
  • Required proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive, and Google Groups for seamless team communication
Physical Requirements

The candidate must be able to:

  • Work long shifts, including overnight
  • Lift 40lb
  • Work standing for extended periods
