Nursing Supervisor

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of nursing personnel in one or more patient care units.
Key Responsibilities- Verifies that patients' needs are met and evaluates unit nursing care and performance.
- Participates in planning work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments.
- Makes daily rounds to assess patient status/needs and provides daily feedback to staff about performance.
- Evaluates 10% of sample medical records daily to evaluate staff compliance with assessment and reassessment and other required documentation.
- Interacts on a continuous basis with other departments by directing activities toward problem resolution.
- Personally evaluates their shifts at least twice a month and confers with Nursing Supervisor about patient/staff issues.
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with the completion of a BSN required, MSN preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as supervisor and acute care clinical skills.
- Current professional nurse license issued and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certification.
- Ability to communicate in English; both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills required.
- Current regulatory knowledge (CMS and Joint Commission) and current evidence-based practice knowledge.
- Strong experience with service excellence culture.
