Position Overview
As a vital member of the Management Team at our retail establishment, you will play a key role in advancing the mission of Goodwill. Your contributions will focus on enhancing financial performance, store aesthetics, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.

In this role, Assistant Managers are expected to foster a positive workplace atmosphere and serve as role models for both staff and customers.


Key Responsibilities
(Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.)

  • Assess tasks to be accomplished, prioritize effectively, and delegate responsibilities while mentoring associates to achieve store financial objectives.
  • Exemplify and promote Goodwill's standards of outstanding customer service, both within the team and to customers.
  • Support the management team with effective communication through onboarding, regular meetings, check-ins, and performance evaluations.
  • Gather feedback from customers and associates to improve operations.
  • Acknowledge and reward behaviors that contribute to progress and success through various recognition programs.
  • Optimize the value of all donated items, ensuring they are received and processed efficiently.
  • Comply with Goodwill's operational standards, including pricing, inventory rotation, scheduling, and returns.
  • Uphold high standards of dress code, visual merchandising, and cleanliness.
  • Timely submission of all necessary reports, including closing reports, incident reports, and training documentation.
  • Ensure the security of all organizational assets.
  • Utilize management tools such as daily sales reports, production metrics, and monthly variance reports to analyze store performance and identify trends.
  • Maintain direct, consistent, and timely communication with supervisors and other management team members regarding operational issues and personnel matters.
Supervisory Duties
This position involves supervisory responsibilities for designated associates within the department.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity is required.
  • No specific professional certifications are necessary for this role.
  • Driving is not a requirement for this position.
  • A successful criminal background check is mandatory for this role.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work in a moderate environment with occasional exposure to extreme conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
