The Quantitative, Translational ADME Sciences (QTAS) division at AbbVie is on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic bioanalytical scientist to enhance the biologics characterization and bioanalysis team.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary role of this position involves the development and execution of LC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry)-based bioanalytical techniques and in vitro characterization assays for biologic entities, such as monoclonal antibodies, multi-specific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAVs).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optimizing and implementing both novel and standard LC-MS-based bioanalytical methodologies to support in vivo pharmacokinetics (PK) and toxicokinetics (TK) studies, as well as in vitro stability assessments of biologics and genetic therapies.
Essential Duties:
- Optimize and implement bioanalytical methodologies for quantifying therapeutic agents (including but not limited to antibodies, ADCs, fusion proteins, LNPs, and small molecules) in biological matrices utilizing LC-MS MRM assays.
- Conduct high-throughput sample preparation in various biofluids and tissues to facilitate both PK/PD and proteomics investigations.
- Contribute to the development of in vitro characterization assays to support biologics and genetic medicine drug development using high-resolution mass spectrometry systems.
- Regularly operate LC-MS and automation instruments, ensuring proper maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Draft and uphold protocols while facilitating assay optimization and implementation to guarantee data integrity.
- Utilize and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for comprehensive study documentation.
- Effectively communicate data interpretations to both internal and external stakeholders.
