We are seeking a highly motivated Research and Development Professional to join our team at Sherwin-Williams. This role will be part of our Leadership Development Program, designed to develop key skills and experience that will lead to a position in the Chemist track within our Performance Coatings Group.


This position will provide opportunities to work alongside senior chemists, build relationships with supply chain partners, and gain knowledge of plant operations. You will have the chance to execute innovation strategies and contribute to the development of new products.


About the Performance Coatings Group at Sherwin-Williams:


Our group supplies a broad range of highly-engineered solutions for the construction, industrial, packaging and transportation markets globally. We have seven business units under the Performance Coatings Group, including Automotive Finishes, Coil Coatings, Engineered Polymer Solutions, General Industrial Coatings, Packaging Coatings, Protective & Marine, and Industrial Wood Coatings.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in science or technical related field, a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and previous experience working on projects in a lab environment. They must also be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.


Key responsibilities include testing methods and quality control using statistics software, commercialization, product, industry and segment understanding, project management, reporting results and findings, and maintaining and analyzing data. The successful candidate will be able to retrieve material from shelves, floor stacks, and/or pallet racking and lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.


We offer a competitive salary between $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as health care, retirement plans, and total well-being programs. Our compensation decisions are dependent on individual factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business needs.
