Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate engineering staff in project planning and execution.
- Conduct inspections of public works projects to ensure compliance with established plans and engineering standards.
- Manage all phases of project design, construction, and completion.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including citizen groups, architects, and contractors, to represent the department effectively.
- Estimate construction costs and manage project budgets efficiently.
- Monitor consultant contracts and evaluate contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review engineering plans and studies for private development projects and assist in the development of Capital Improvement Projects.
- Provide engineering support to public works and utility operations.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of professional civil engineering experience.
- Valid registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
- A valid California Class C Driver License may be required.

Highly Desirable Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Leadership experience in managing teams of engineers and contractors.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and high-performance teams.
- Proficiency in computer applications relevant to civil engineering.
- Experience in infrastructure asset management and project scheduling.
- Knowledge of relevant design guidelines, building codes, and water quality regulations.
