Job Summary

The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is seeking a Grants Coordinator to administer the CanRenew grant program. The successful candidate will manage grant applications, implement short- and long-term plans, and foster community engagement. This role is located in St. Paul and may involve telework from home two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Manage grant applications and implement short- and long-term plans for the CanRenew grant program
Foster community engagement and enhance support for social equity applicants and other targeted groups within the legal cannabis industry
Ensure program transparency and accountability through comprehensive reporting and compliance monitoring
Develop and implement strategic policies and procedures for the grant program
Monitor a budget of approximately $15 million in state grant funds

Requirements

Two (2) years of experience managing grants and using a grant management system
Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft policies and procedures for a large grant program and communicate effectively with industry stakeholders
Ability to interpret financial data, manage budgets, and prepare grant reports
Ability to celebrate diversity and work effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
Ability to problem solve and think independently

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of experience managing grants in the State of Minnesota
Experience using SWIFT
Experience with inventory management systems
Knowledge of MN cannabis laws, rules, and regulations
Experience writing policies and procedures
Experience working with community partners with a focus on disparate impact, diversity, equity, and/or social justice and fairness

About the Office of Cannabis Management

The OCM will serve as the primary regulatory agency for the state's new and expanding cannabis industry, including the new adult-use market, the Medical Cannabis Program, and existing lower-potency hemp edibles. The office will issue business licenses, provide education and technical support to new businesses, administer grants to support community reinvestment, and oversee all aspects of Minnesota's cannabis industry.
