Controller Position

Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota (CCF) is seeking a seasoned Controller to oversee the financial framework, accounting activities, and internal controls of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, investments, fixed assets, and general ledger.
  • Lead and supervise the finance team, ensuring timely general ledger closings and accurate financial presentations.
  • Generate and analyze monthly operating reports for leadership team.
  • Approve journal entries, grant distributions, and vendor payments.
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee payroll and HR administrative duties.
  • Champion the adoption of technology to streamline processes.
Finance Activities:
  • Produce accurate financial statements and reports for committee and board deliberations.
  • Lead the creation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Coordinate audit preparations and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Support the VP of Finance in fulfilling tax and regulatory requirements and conducting enterprise risk assessments.
  • Liaise with the Development team to manage fund reporting effectively.
  • Analyze and manage CCF's portfolio of owned life insurance policies.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Develop and monitor robust internal controls.
  • Annually update and refine finance compliance policies.
  • Oversee administration of investment compliance.
  • Be vigilant addressing cyber security threats.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with a CPA certification. A minimum of seven years of professional accounting experience and at least two years in a finance leadership role are required. Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills are essential, along with excellent communication skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders.
