About the Role

Gulfstream SP is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for commercial plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial plumbing projects based on construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Trimble Autobid or similar on-screen takeoff (OST) software to generate estimates.
  • Project Evaluation: Evaluate and analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects.
  • Material and Labor Requirements: Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure the best price and service for each project.
  • Consultation: Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as required.
  • Site Visits: Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project meetings as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing estimating experience.
  • Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of Trimble Autobid or similar OST software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in labs, high-tech facilities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical projects is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Local Preference: Local applicants with a stable work history are preferred.
