Job Title: Finance Manager

The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations for UVA Bookstores. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all financial operations for UVA Bookstores, including cash office management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets for all locations.
  • Reconcile daily POS and mail order cash and credit card transactions for all locations.
  • Provide leadership and support for trouble shooting system issues, vendor and payment discrepancies.
  • Supervise multiple employees and manage the daily operation activities of the business office.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • At least seven years of experience in a financial discipline, likely with supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles and analytical techniques.
  • Experience in higher education service-related settings with in-depth knowledge of accounting, finance, financial reporting systems, data mining, and data manipulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Workday and Oracle-based systems or similar financial database systems.
  • Experience in IT/finance/operational cross-functional projects and developing presentations for senior management.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures in a state-funded higher education system.
Anticipated Hiring Range:

$70,000-$85,000, commensurate with education and experience.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
