Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Lowell General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Implement medical and nursing plans of care, administer medications, and perform procedures as directed by a Registered Nurse.
  • Provide direct patient care, maintaining patient rights and dignity, and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Perform technical aspects of patient care, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Assess and manage patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques and documenting outcomes.
  • Communicate patient changes and concerns to the Registered Nurse and record observations accurately.
  • Establish positive relationships with patients and families, providing education and counseling as needed.
  • Review and educate discharged patients on ADLs, medications, and provide discharge instructions.
  • Document all nursing interventions and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Delegate responsibilities to others, considering their roles, knowledge, and capabilities.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, utilizing principles to support and improve patient care.
  • Maintain a professional practice, presenting self in a calm and professional manner, and staying current with changing practices and interventions.
  • Maintain a collaborative work relationship with peers and colleagues, creating a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.
  • Experience dependent on unit requirements and needs.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
