Job Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at Lowell General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work under the direction of the registered nurse to provide supportive and restorative care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Implement the medical/nursing plan of care, nursing interventions, medication administration, and procedures necessary for patient care.
  • Provide direct patient care within the primary nursing model to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
  • Perform technical aspects of patient care (medications, treatments, etc.) safely, according to established policies and procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assess and reassess pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques, and document pain management.
  • Communicate all changes in the patient's condition immediately to the Registered Nurse.
Requirements
  • Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.
  • Experience dependent upon unit requirements and needs.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
