Job Overview

Cypress HCM is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer - Facilities Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional electrical engineering services and support across planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support, leadership, and expertise to Facilities and Manufacturing teams across various sites globally as the Technical Field Authority
  • Collaborate with internal partners/teams, including Technology, Procurement, Finance, and Legal
  • Develop, review, and maintain internal systems for equipment and component standards and specifications
  • Drive global consistency and efficiency by reviewing and standardizing design concepts, construction projects, reliability programs, and operations/maintenance practices across all sites
  • Analyze system designs to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested
  • Benchmark engineering best practices of facilities buildings and systems
  • Provide support, leadership, and expertise to construction project teams in the engineering and design development for new large-scale facilities infrastructure expansion projects
  • Develop, review, and maintain Electrical Engineering design and construction standards
  • Ensure appropriate communication with local facilities, design, construction, procurement, and manufacturing partners as required to deliver project objectives and work
  • Perform timely review of design packages and provide feedback as necessary
  • Provide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
  • Provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources required
  • Ensure that project scope meets customer needs
  • Ensure change management procedures are followed
  • Oversee construction progress and provide necessary support
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations
  • Actively participate in, or lead, network-wide capacity and scenario planning, assessing system and distribution capacity impacts based on potential changes
  • Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends across the network and validating utilization and diversity factor assumptions
  • Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for facilities infrastructure additions or modifications
  • Take ownership of global facilities programs and initiatives, including establishing and defining the program objectives, roadmaps, and high-level implementation plan
  • Lead facilities sustainability programs in support of Corporate Sustainability program
Requirements and Desired Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; MS a plus
  • At least 4 years of experience in Semiconductor and/or Facilities related industry
  • Technical expertise, knowledge, and experience in Facilities and Semiconductor Electrical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of High, Medium, and Low Voltage Electrical Systems, Critical and Emergency Electrical Backup Systems, Variable Frequency Drives, Lighting, Sag Mitigation Systems, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies, and Electrical Distribution Systems
  • Able to prioritize and schedule workload; strong multi-tasking skills
  • Familiarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing and Facilities systems
  • Able to travel internationally; roughly 25% on average
