About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at KinderCare Learning Companies. As a key member of our center staff, you will play a vital role in providing healthy and nutritious meals for our children.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs of our children, following a menu developed by our in-house nutritionist.
  • Order food and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and inventory management.
  • Dispense and store medication, as requested, and complete accurate documentation according to KinderCare and other licensing or regulation requirements.
  • Assist with daily center duties, as needed, and support the center's success by partnering with staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures, including food storage and cross-contamination avoidance.
  • Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantities of food for our center population.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating serving portions.
  • Possession of a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
  • At least one year of institutional cooking experience, with food ordering experience highly desirable.
  • Two or more years working with children, highly desirable.
  • Physical ability to use a computer with basic proficiency and lift up to 40 pounds, as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
