Culinary Specialist for Children's Academy

At Wonderland Children's Academy, we are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Meal Preparation:
    • Plan and prepare balanced and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children.
    • Ensure that all meals meet the dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
    • Accommodate any special dietary requirements or allergies of the children.
  2. Kitchen Management:
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
    • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are in good working condition.
    • Manage inventory of food and kitchen supplies, and order as needed.
  3. Menu Planning:
    • Develop weekly or monthly menus, taking into consideration variety and nutritional value.
    • Collaborate with the daycare director or nutritionist to create menus that meet dietary guidelines.
  4. Hygiene and Safety:
    • Follow all health and safety regulations related to food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
    • Monitor food storage and labeling to prevent spoilage or contamination.
    • Educate and enforce good hygiene practices among staff and children during mealtime.
  5. Break Assistance:
    • Assist with supervising children during breaks and mealtime.
    • Foster a positive and engaging environment during meal and snack times.
    • Encourage good eating habits and social interactions among the children.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cooking for children or in a daycare setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary needs is preferred.
  • Food handling and safety certification is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Agility and dexterity in the kitchen.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday, 6:45 am to 3:30 pm
