Job Title: Faculty Position in Exercise Physiology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory through upper-level courses in exercise science and kinesiology, including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, biology, and general education.

The ideal candidate will possess a doctorate in Exercise Science or a closely related field, with an Exercise Physiology concentration. They will have teaching experience at the university level, related professional experience, an active and strong scholarly agenda, and a willingness to improve and grow the exercise science and kinesiology program. The candidate will also have demonstrated ability to collaborate, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and experiential learning.

The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College is committed to cultivating an equity-minded and equity-engaged campus culture. Responsibilities will include teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses, conduct research, and participate in departmental and college service. They will also be responsible for advising students, mentoring undergraduate researchers, and contributing to the development and maintenance of the program and the college.

Professional membership in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is required. Certifications in ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) &/or ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) are highly desirable.
