Job Title: Faculty Position in Exercise Physiology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, and related areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach introductory through upper-level courses in exercise science and kinesiology, including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, and related courses as needed.
  • Develop and maintain the Exercise Physiology laboratory, including coordinating experiments and research projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Exercise Science and Kinesiology program, including curriculum design, clinical partnerships, and scholarly and professional development activities.
  • Participate in creative collaboration with faculty, athletics, and student-centered approaches to teaching and advising.
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Exercise Science or a closely related field with an Exercise Physiology concentration.
  • Teaching experience at the university level, related professional experience, and an active and strong scholarly agenda.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and experiential learning.
  • Professional membership in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and certifications in ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) &/or ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) are highly desirable.
