Key Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and apply them effectively in your work.
- Contribute to building positive client relationships by demonstrating clear communication, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for our tax clients, identifying potential issues and presenting solutions.
- Manage multiple client profiles, employee development, and firm responsibilities while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
- Review workpapers and provide comments for correction or adjustments, ensuring all review comments are successfully addressed.
- Share knowledge of key changes in tax standards, laws, and regulations with YHB employees and provide guidance and mentorship to Associates and Supervisors.
Technical Expertise and Work Quality:
- Develop a thorough understanding of tax accounting fundamentals, including industry and practice-specialty standards.
- Apply strong research, analytical, and communication skills to ensure clients remain in compliance with tax regulations and identify potential issues or opportunities.
- Propose solutions by applying analytical techniques and performing or directing research.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and documentation, ensuring little or no revision is needed.
Client Management and Service:
- Obtain necessary knowledge to handle issues outside your expertise or identify resources to assist clients.
- Demonstrate good judgment by identifying potential issues and elevating them to superiors, along with recommended solutions.
- Manage multiple client engagements, employee, and firm responsibilities while meeting client expectations and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain strong, positive client relationships through timely and responsive communication.
- Be aware of potential additional service areas or opportunities to expand services.
Business Development:
- Display awareness of the importance of new business generation by expanding peer/professional networks and participating in leadership of civic, professional, or industry groups.
- Generate leads and turn them into new business opportunities.
- Participate in YHB marketing activities and help coordinate marketing efforts.
- Understand YHB's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
- Assist in proposals and presentations for current and potential clients.
Leading and Developing Others:
- Invest in the growth of others as professionals and refine your skills in managing people.
- Accept newer staff on engagements and provide on-the-job training.
- Delegate tasks, provide timely and relevant performance feedback, and help and encouragement as needed.
- Advise and mentor team members, evaluate their performance, and guarantee quality client service.
- Manage circle employee growth by preparing personal development plans and meeting firm and professional education requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field required.
- CPA Certification.
- Possess a high level of integrity and ability to respect confidentiality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable of firm policies and procedures.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated time and work management skills necessary to manage a complex workload.
