The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients within the Emergency Department. This position is vital in a healthcare setting where cutting-edge research and technology converge to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct patient registration and gather essential information, including demographics, insurance details, and financial data.
- Cross-train in various patient access areas, such as front desk operations, admitting office, and cash handling.
- Serve as a Super User, providing guidance and training to new team members.
- Facilitate registration and cash collection processes using the Epic system.
- A high school diploma or GED with two years of experience in a customer service role, or an associate's degree with one year of experience, or a bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or completion of a relevant course within one year.
- Proficient in basic PC software applications and capable of navigating multiple data systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information.
- Capability to perform tasks in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Proficiency in handling physical records and operating office equipment.
- In certain roles, the ability to travel within the healthcare system and lift up to 25 lbs.
Adhere to standard precautions by utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.
