Physical Therapist Assistant PTA Per Diem Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will implement a prescribed treatment program according to organizational and professional guidelines.
- You will modify measurement skills based on patients' age, medical condition, and cultural background.
- You will communicate patient progress and overall status with the Physical Therapist to adjust patient goals, treatment plan, procedures, and discharge and equipment needs.
- You will maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and practice guidelines.
- You will orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
- You will complete additional department, organization, or network activities as per established objectives.
- You will uphold the PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Minimum 2 years of experience for Advanced Clinician.
- Licensed (and in good standing) as a physical therapist assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- BLS required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the English language.
- Basic skills in math and computer science.
- Appropriate knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
- Effective problem-solving skills for physical therapy treatment planning and execution.
- Basic skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
- Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
- Demonstrate the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
- Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
- Maintain a variable work schedule depending on hospital/program needs to provide patient care (evening, holidays, weekend, and travel).
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
- Work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
- Anticipate challenges and develop and implement strategies for addressing them.
- High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
- Attention to detail.
