JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:


ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS

Oversee accounts payable – Manage the processing and documentation of accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors and staff reimbursements in line with financial policies.

Oversee accounts receivable – Administer the processing of receipts and recording of revenue, ensuring timely reconciliation of revenues and receivables.

Manage reimbursements using the Sage Intacct accounting system – Prepare payment vouchers and perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.

Process general and administrative expense allocations, monthly accruals, and necessary adjusting journal entries.

Maintain an organized filing system for reimbursement documentation, vendor files, and other financial records.

Support the Director of Finance with various financial and administrative tasks.

Prepare month-end adjusting journal entries and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


MONITORING & REPORTING

Conduct general accounts analysis and reconciliations.

Prepare and evaluate monthly budget versus actual variance reports for each program.

Provide payment status updates for contractors to the Director of Finance and Humentum staff.

Assist the Director of Finance in generating financial reports, including the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities.

Engage in other activities as requested.

File and maintain Humentum's permanent legal documentation.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of two to four years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, particularly in a non-profit setting.


Accounting/Finance Knowledge:

Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance, and experience in non-profit accounting and financial reporting.


Technical Skills:

Proficient in relevant information technology and systems. Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Concur, and Outlook) and Sage Intacct software is essential.


Organizational Abilities:

Establishes a systematic approach to ensure the completion of assignments, prioritizing tasks and managing resources effectively.

Completes tasks thoroughly, paying attention to detail across all areas involved.


Interpersonal Skills:

Collaborates effectively with colleagues and demonstrates sensitivity to the needs and demands of others, showcasing cultural communication competence.
