Job Summary

A Pharmacy Technician at Prisma Health assists pharmacists in providing safe, rational, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care for patients. The role involves performing pharmacy-related functions, maintaining inventory, and participating in training new personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to an efficient work environment by answering phone calls, screening and prioritizing calls, and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Assists in interpreting, clarifying, and entering orders for medications and supplies into the pharmacy computer.
  • Fills, labels, and packages medications and pharmaceuticals accurately and efficiently.
  • Handles out-window procedures, including operating the cash register and verifying prescription orders.
  • Maintains inventory, including generating and processing orders, receiving inventory, and rotating stock to ensure that out-dated medications are pulled from the shelves.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Registered as State Certified with the SC Board of Pharmacy
  • Excellent communication skills, team-orientation, and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods

Work Environment

The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment, interacting with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. The role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
