About the Role:

The Commercial Banking Support Specialist will provide administrative support to the Commercial Banking team at Trustmark Bank. This role will assist in the day-to-day operations of the team, including providing support for Commercial Relationship Managers, gathering information for loan applications, and preparing loan documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial Banking team, including answering phones, coordinating calendars, and preparing correspondence.
  • Gather information and prepare loan applications, including pulling financial statements and collecting documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of loan documents, including UCCs and Letters of Credit.
  • Interface with other departments, including Loan Operations, Central Document Processing, and Treasury Services.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or 2-year degree with business administration emphasis preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a business banking assistant or relevant general banking or general assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of general banking and business banking procedures and practices preferred.
  • Accounting and mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and other bank systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Community Banking Assistant I or proven equivalent.
  • Knowledge of advanced banking and commercial lending procedures and practices.
  • Familiarity with legal concepts involving commercial lending and knowledge of when and whom to forward escalated concerns.
