Job Description

The Operations Lead will provide strategic leadership for all operational functions and processes in Sharon Springs, KS.

This role involves guiding safety, quality, working effectiveness, and financial performance, as well as problem-solving and efficient solutions for our facilities.

You will work alongside the team to foster communication and a strong customer service mentality.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing elevator functions to meet budget goals and maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate incoming shipment information with location management and determine the daily market position.
  • Oversee preparation of trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment.
  • Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
  • Inspect in-use equipment for seeps and leaks of process equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory (may include blended, bulk, or packaged product).
  • D deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites.
  • Maintain all work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, performing regular housekeeping duties.
  • Perform warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned to ensure facility operations smoothly and customers receive excellent customer service.


Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.
  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.


Estimated Salary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
