Job Title: Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer

Overview:

The Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer is a key leadership position at Novant Health, responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the organization. This individual will serve as a liaison between the medical staff and administration, ensuring that the highest levels of medical care are provided to patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide operational leadership and guidance for all core processes, ensuring that the medical staff is equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Communication: Communicate vital information to the medical staff through regular meetings and updates, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Business Acumen: Maintain organizational policy and procedure, including rules of conduct, and ensure that the medical staff is aware of and adheres to these policies.
  • Quality Improvement: Demonstrate knowledge of process improvement principles and apply them to improvement activities, ensuring that the medical staff is equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Customer Service: Hold staff accountable for customer service standards and ensure that service recovery is implemented when needed.
  • Human Resources: Provide ongoing informal and formal feedback to direct reports, ensuring that they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Financial: Manage positions within the department to achieve quality and productivity, and meet budget.

Requirements:

  • Education: Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a recognized college or university and completion of residency training in a clinical specialty.
  • Experience: 5 years active practice experience with Medical Staff Leadership, and 10 years experience in Progressive leadership in Healthcare organization.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Board certification in clinical specialty.
  • Additional Skills: Extensive knowledge of both clinical medicine, medical staff governance, hospital operations and management, problem-solving, teamwork, and developing innovative solutions.
