Job Summary

Clean Water Services is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for coordinating domain knowledge with our Data Warehouse Engineer to ensure data interoperability between source systems and our data warehouse and report server systems.

You will serve as the liaison between Digital Solutions and other departments for all aspects of business intelligence. Your responsibilities will include supporting data integration, analysis, visualization, reporting, dashboards, decision support, machine learning, and predictive analytics for end users.

In addition, you will ensure appropriate data security and quality controls for compliance policies and build additional policies that adhere to Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Controls (CISA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Generates visualizations and analysis for the organization's scientific, operational, and financial processes for data-driven decisions, data prediction reports, and dashboards with statistical analysis for organizational decision-making.
  • Implements solutions that align with our data governance standards and architectural roadmap for data integration, analytics, and reporting.
  • Builds documentation outlining business processes related to data integration and data analysis. Creates a central repository of data visualizations, reports, and analyses through source, warehouse, and reporting systems.
  • Identifies and analyzes errors and inconsistencies in the data for timely resolutions.
  • Performs data mining and machine learning used to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns for data interpretation and data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinates with CWS staff to diagnose or resolve issues and enhancements on data-related processes.
  • Creates and maintains a positive, engaged, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture within the department to improve the work group's understanding and recognition of diversity in the workplace and foster multidisciplinary and integrated team approaches.
  • Coordinates with end users to scope and define data models for visualizations, analysis, and data-driven dashboards.
  • Drives a CWS or personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of On-Premises Database Technologies (Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres and Oracle Database), Source Control, PowerShell, Azure Stack (Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Analysis Services, HDInsight, Data Explorer, Cosmos, Table Storage, Redis, Blob, and Data Lake), and Datadog.
  • Fundamentals in data quality, integrity, and management through business systems.
  • Secure and confidential data analysis techniques.
  • Authentication and authorization techniques for product delivery.
Skills
  • Data interoperability (Extract Transform Load (ETL), Extract Load Transform (ELT), etc.) processes and data warehousing technologies.
  • Programming in Syntax Query Language (SQL (TSQL, PL/SQL)), Python, R, and C#.
  • Data visualization (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, etc.) and data analysis (SSAS, OLAP, Azure Analysis Services, Juypter, MDX, DAX).
  • Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), Vector Databases (with use of ANN), No-SQL (DBMS) for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured datasets.
Abilities
  • Research, analyze, and deliver complex data services.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions per system architecture or stakeholder requirements.
  • Partner with stakeholders and end users for projects within an established timeline.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
  • Operate effectively in a team environment.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Experience and Training Guidelines
  • Three years experience in data science, data analytics, statistics, or other data-related work.
  • College level coursework or specialized training in data analytics, machine learning, and other data-related work including Azure.
Certification and Licensure Requirements
  • Upon selection, candidates must possess and maintain a valid State of Oregon driver's license.
