We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Developmental Professional to lead our STEM programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality STEM programs that promote youth development and prepare members for success.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement STEM programs that align with the 21st Century Community Learning Centers narrative.
- Participate in specialized STEM training with BGCNF's community partner, STEM2Hub.
- Interface with school science teachers to ensure afterschool STEM programs align and complement school programming.
- Program Administration
- Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, and attendance.
- Maintain a daily written schedule and ensure programs begin and end on time.
- Member Engagement and Support
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for members, supervising them in the program area.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the program area and inventory of program equipment and supplies.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members, promoting their safety and well-being.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Maintain close, daily contact with club staff and volunteers, club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.
- Education
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience
- Knowledge of youth development principles and practices.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
- Ability to work with the public and plan and implement quality programs specific to one of the Clubs' core areas.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Work Environment
- This position generally works M – F, 2 PM – 7 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; bending and squatting on occasion.
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to hear at a normal conversational level.
- Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary.
- High degree of emotional intelligence.
