Operations Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is a key role within the Trelleborg Group, responsible for overseeing the production operations of our sites. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with various teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and drive departmental goals to support Trelleborg's overall objectives
  • Collaborate with direct reports to communicate and update goals and metrics, demonstrating evidence of improvement
  • Conduct process audits to monitor procedure and policy conformance
  • Support and sustain safety, quality, delivery, and cost metric boards across operational departments
  • Implement improvements across functional areas, including tools, equipment, procedures, and training materials
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement, guiding site Operational Excellence and Procurement Excellence goals
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and directives
  • Partner with Management to meet site financial goals and deliverables
  • Contribute to site operation strategic planning, aligning with Trelleborg's vision
  • Support employee engagement efforts and communication
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Quality to support a One TSS culture
  • Provide excellent customer support as required
  • Support manufacturing processes to sustain a culture of Lean
  • Escalate issues or concerns to Plant Manager as necessary
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment for all employees

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • 7+ years of Operations experience
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Lean Sigma methodologies
  • Experience managing in a unionized manufacturing facility

Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA or master's degree in related field
  • 10+ years of Operations Management experience

  • Minimal travel required
