Our corporate headquarters is situated in Monticello, Iowa, complemented by 30 additional locations throughout Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. We employ 250 full-time staff across various departments, including Operations, Transportation, Sales, Grain Merchandising, Management, Customer Service, Accounting, IT, Human Resources, and Communications. Additionally, we recruit around 120 seasonal employees and interns annually.

Primary Objective: To deliver effective leadership and management for the growth and operational efficiency of the location, benefiting both IAS and its members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, and train full-time personnel as needed.
  • Oversee location operations and ensure efficient distribution of agricultural supply products.
  • Safeguard the physical inventory of the location and maintain accurate records.
  • Adjust location hours to accommodate seasonal demands.
  • Manage labor and variable costs associated with operations.
  • Identify and implement effective marketing strategies for our customers in collaboration with grain department personnel.
  • Achieve growth in market share for bushels purchased annually.
  • Control inventory levels to meet seasonal requirements.
  • Maintain and supervise the upkeep of location assets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to foster sales and purchasing growth.
  • Oversee grain facility operations and quality assurance; optimize blending opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with marketing teams to meet volume objectives.
  • Complete inter-company and regulatory obligations promptly.
  • Manage accounts receivable losses to remain below 0.1% of sales.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize workplace accidents.
  • Ensure a clean and organized facility.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in agricultural sales and retail management, particularly in feed, fertilizer, and grain sectors.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a foundational understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and piping systems, as well as knowledge of various machinery and tools.
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment to completing tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in both written and oral formats.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AS400 computer operations.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Adaptability:
  • Must possess the strength to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing at least 50 pounds, along with flexibility to bend, stretch, twist, or reach.
  • Exposure to seasonal weather, outdoor conditions, and agricultural products is possible.
  • Personal Protective Equipment may be necessary for certain tasks.
