Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the production facility to ensure the delivery of top-quality products while optimizing efficiency and adhering to budgetary constraints. Develops and implements systems to manage production schedules effectively, aligning with business objectives.
- Champions Lean Manufacturing methodologies to promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Takes a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
- Responsible for the financial performance of the facility, regularly reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Directs strategic planning initiatives for the site, focusing on cost reduction strategies, capital investments, and resource allocation.
- Manages safety, quality assurance, scheduling, production, shipping, maintenance, and other administrative operations within the facility.
- Fosters a safe, clean, and efficient working environment, ensuring compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strives to enhance the facility's safety record year-over-year, cultivating a positive safety culture among all employees.
- Conducts weekly safety inspections of the facility.
- Facilitates talent assessments, providing training, development, and motivation to staff to maximize workforce effectiveness. Conducts performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback as necessary.
- Leads weekly team meetings focusing on essential operational metrics.
- Organizes and leads plant-wide communication sessions for all personnel.
- Engages with customers and suppliers, visiting as required to maintain strong relationships.
- Works to build positive relationships within the community.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement roles, including team management.
- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is essential.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in a high-speed manufacturing setting, with a preference for experience in plastic injection molding and metal processing/forming.
- Experience in a customer-facing commercial role is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in process development and business process design.
- Familiarity with ISO or equivalent quality standards is necessary.
- Experience in implementing and managing an Operating System, such as the Toyota Production System, is preferred.
