Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a qualified Health Psychologist to join our team at VCU Health - Richmond, VA. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work with patients undergoing weight loss surgery and provide consultation liaison services within designated programs.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health Psychologist to work in a fast-paced environment providing therapy and surgical evaluations to patients in our weight loss surgery program. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising psychology graduate students in primary care clinics and teaching trainees including health psychology postdoctoral fellows and psychiatry residents.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical: Provide therapy and surgical evaluations to patients in our weight loss surgery program; supervise psychology graduate students in primary care clinics
  • Teaching: Supervise health psychology postdoctoral fellows and teach other trainees including psychiatry residents and undergraduate psychology students
  • Service: Assist in training within the health psychology postdoctoral fellowship and serve on committees of the department, university, and health system

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with advanced training and experience in clinical health psychology. They must be licensed or license-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and have experience completing bariatric surgical evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

AAPA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology would be an asset.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year based on qualifications and experience
