We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative in the Utility Billing Division of the General Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our utility customers, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment processing.
Key Responsibilities- Manage delinquent accounts through correspondence and calls, ensuring compliance with City policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance with inquiries and complaints, interfacing with utility customers and General Services Department staff to research and resolve issues.
- Assist with the planning, initiation, and maintenance of new customer service initiatives, developing marketing strategies and marketing materials.
- Originate work orders to dispatch crews for service work, complete work orders, and enter diary notes on customer accounts.
- Troubleshoot billing, customer service, and metering issues, assisting with window inquiries, cash processing, and daily cash procedures.
- Associates degree or equivalent in public relations, marketing, or business, or four years of progressively responsible customer service experience.
- At least one year of experience working with high-level officials and managers in the area of customer service, and making financial account adjustments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, staff, and management.
- Proficiency in computer software and systems, including word processing, email, and customer relationship management systems.
