Job Overview

The Internal Audit Division at CAPPS, Inc. plays a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of our agency's operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will engage in advanced auditing activities, which include:
  1. Conducting comprehensive audits of various departments, programs, and contractors.
  2. Providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.
  3. Collaborating with senior management to develop and implement the annual audit strategy.
  4. Mentoring and guiding junior auditors in their professional development.

Essential Functions

Your role will encompass the following essential functions:
  1. Partnering with the chief internal auditor to formulate the annual audit plan.
  2. Overseeing the development of audit scopes and objectives.
  3. Executing complex audits and ensuring the achievement of audit goals.
  4. Reviewing audit documentation for accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  5. Analyzing management operations and internal controls for reliability and effectiveness.
  6. Advising management on necessary changes to improve processes and compliance.
  7. Representing the department in agency-wide initiatives and task forces.
  8. Promoting a culture of ethical leadership and professional growth.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  1. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  2. Professional certification such as CGAP, CISA, CIA, or CPA.
  3. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in auditing or financial operations.
  4. Two years of experience in a leadership role within audit teams.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs, and prolonged periods of sitting and standing.

Knowledge and Skills

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
  1. In-depth knowledge of government auditing standards and practices.
  2. Proficiency in using auditing software and data analysis techniques.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. The ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional relationships.
