Senior Internal Auditor

As a Senior Internal Auditor with the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the agency's internal controls and financial systems are operating effectively. This position requires a high level of expertise in auditing, with a focus on managerial-level work. You will serve as the agency's Internal Auditor, responsible for establishing and maintaining an internal auditing program that provides an independent analysis and evaluation of the agency's internal controls and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an annual audit plan, prioritizing reviews of agency programs and services based on risk assessment results.
Conduct audits, document results, and prepare audit reports, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and generally accepted auditing standards.
Examine and analyze operations, internal control structures, and systems to ensure reliability, accuracy, and efficiency.
Act as liaison with outside auditors, coordinating management responses for external audits and supervising the work of others as needed.
Requirements:
Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards, procedures, and techniques.
Familiarity with state governmental internal auditing requirements, laws, rules, and regulations.
Ability to accurately document audit results and compose clear, concise audit reports.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with agency staff, auditors, and local governments' staff and elected/appointed officials.
