Our 9 North ACE unit is a 29-bed specialty unit dedicated to providing exceptional care to medical patients aged 65 and older. Our team of skilled nurses and healthcare professionals work together to deliver comprehensive care to patients with a variety of medical conditions and co-morbidities.
We specialize in the acute care of the elderly, and our staff are trained in the latest geriatric care techniques. Our unit is a Magnet hospital, and our nurses are NICHE-trained, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care.

Scope of WorkThe Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing patient-centered care on our unit. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while also collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The RN will also be responsible for educating patients and families on health and wellness, and for promoting a culture of safety and quality within the unit.

- Associates or Diploma in Nursing is required.
- Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required within 60 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
