Our ApproachWe take a patient-centered approach to care, focusing on the unique needs and goals of each individual. Our nurses are trained in the NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) program and are certified as Geriatric Resource Nurses (GRNs). We also provide additional training to our nursing assistants and clinical assistants in the care of geriatric patients.

About Royal Oak HospitalOur hospital is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the country and is a major academic and referral center. We have a Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designation and are committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients.
Scope of WorkThe RN will utilize the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and will be responsible for providing quality patient care according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.

QualificationsAssociates or Diploma in Nursing is required. Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience. Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
