Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Clerk to join our team at the City of Newark, OH. As an Administrative Clerk, you will assist administrative officials in formulating effective policies and procedures for the office and other clerical and related operations. You will also supervise the preparation of statistical and other reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in drafting proposed ordinances and/or resolutions
• Collect and analyze data needed as a basis for administrative decisions
• Supervise the establishment and maintenance of records and files
• Handle correspondence
• Make special investigations for an administrative official
Requirements:
• Five (5) years of experience in clerical work
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position
• Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, and equipment
• Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units
Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
