Job Description

The Energy Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Specialist to join our team at our Newark Headquarters Office. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the satisfaction of our members by providing exceptional customer service and support.

About the Job:

  • We are committed to serving our members with safe, high-quality energy services at a reasonable price.
  • You will be responsible for assisting member-consumers with natural gas, propane, and electric service, including questions, complaints, new accounts, transfers, terminations, collections, payments, and payment arrangements.
  • You will greet Cooperative members and the general public in a friendly and courteous manner and direct them to the proper person or department when applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support and incorporate the Cooperative's Mission, Vision, and Values in professional behavior and decisions.
  2. Comply with all Cooperative policies, procedures, goals, and objectives and meet attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  3. Assist members with the initial process of setting up new construction accounts for electric, natural gas, and propane.
  4. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail to headquarters and distribute appropriately.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience working with the general public and in a call center is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent telephone and communication skills and be able to consistently provide the highest quality customer service.
  • Must be computer literate and have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • An estimated salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience.
