Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Mechanical Engineer II to join our team at PECNA Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America. This role will involve supervising the operation and performance of various mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and controls. The successful candidate will assist the Operations and Maintenance team, identify root causes of performance issues, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation and performance of mechanical facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
  • Assist the Operations and Maintenance team with updating O&M requirements and as-built documentation.
  • Witness O&M activities and coordinate with O&M staff to identify opportunities for improving maintenance and operational efficiencies.
  • Support the O&M team with troubleshooting root causes of performance issues.
  • Support facility design expansion projects to enforce facility standards.
  • Understand industrial equipment and processes, their operating parameters, and make recommendations to improve or maintain the associated controls and instrumentation.
  • Conduct routine, ongoing assessments of the facility systems operations, including tests, rounds, data analysis to assure the proper functioning of systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and utilize protective equipment.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, such as fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.
  • Develop relationships and communicate with engineers across disciplines and at other Panasonic sites to foster best practice sharing and communication.
  • Train junior facilities staff on systems, procedures, and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of relevant HVAC Design and/or Facilities Engineering work experience.
  • Skills and experience necessary to satisfy the required Essential Duties.
  • Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Experienced with reviewing and interpreting project design documents.
  • Excellent organizational and verbal skills.
  • Being approachable and comfortable communicating/troubleshooting with other departmental peers.
  • Experience with collecting and analyzing technical information.
  • The ability to respond effectively, verbally, and in writing to sensitive issues or complaints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience in overcoming communication challenges while resolving technical issues with team members who may have different cultural and lingual backgrounds.
  • Strong team building skills and willingness to learn from and accept guidance from others.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results.
  • Intuitive, adaptable, resourceful, and collaborative.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working as an Engineer.
  • Familiarity with commercial facility MEP equipment.
  • Alignment to Panasonic's seven core principles.
