Job Title: Power Systems Engineer

At the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, we are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the Texas power grid.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide engineering support and analysis for the integration of large flexible loads into the ERCOT System. This will involve reviewing interconnection studies for large loads and interfacing with Transmission Service Providers to ensure compliance with ERCOT and NERC requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate large load interconnection studies for accuracy and compliance with ERCOT and NERC requirements
  • Perform powerflow studies to assess the reliability of large load interconnection requests
  • Communicate ERCOT requirements to Transmission Service Providers and entities wishing to interconnect large loads in ERCOT
  • Perform regular and ad-hoc analyses of large load behavior and impacts on ERCOT markets and real-time reliability
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure large loads are fully integrated into ERCOT models and systems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience in excess of degree requirements
  • Experience performing and evaluating powerflow studies in transmission or distribution systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical one lines and drawings
  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience
