Job Overview

As a GMS Application Engineer Sr, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing modifications and enhancements to Market Management Systems (MMS) applications, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test MMS applications, including Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED), Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC), and Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring timely and effective delivery of MMS applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and analysts, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Participate in multifunctional teams to perform studies, develop tools, and implement system changes, enhancing system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiencies.
  • Represent the Market Applications Engineering Team at interdepartmental and stakeholder meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Required).
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Preferred).
  • Experience with Hitachi ABB or any MMS vendors suite of applications.
  • Experience with Data Historians such as OSIsoft PI.
  • Experience with programming languages such as FORTRAN, C, C++, Java, and Perl.
  • Experience with PL/SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with system design, development, and testing.
  • Knowledge of market management systems and their applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
