Role Overview:
The Medication Technician is responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments to residents requiring assistance, in strict adherence to state regulations and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the core values and ethical standards of our organization at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with resident rights and confidentiality regulations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed, following all relevant state laws and community guidelines.
  • Provide one-on-one medication administration, observing residents during intake and noting any changes in behavior or condition, promptly reporting findings to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Seek guidance from supervisory staff for any unfamiliar treatment or medication orders.
  • Respect residents' rights to refuse medication, investigating the reasons for refusal and reporting to supervisory staff.
  • Consistently apply Standard Precautions and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Respond to requests for as-needed medications, monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular audits of the medication cart to ensure proper stock levels, check for expired medications, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Safeguard residents' rights and confidential information in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Provide emotional support to residents, respecting their need for privacy and promoting independence.
  • Monitor for signs of resident abuse or neglect, taking immediate action to prevent harm and report incidents as per company policy.
  • Engage respectfully with residents and their families, directing any service or care concerns to supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
  • Completion of a state-approved caregiver training program is necessary.
  • Must meet age requirements as per community policy and state regulations.
  • Previous experience in direct care or as a Medication Technician is preferred.

Compensation:
Hourly wage of $19.50 or based on experience.

Work Schedule:
Tuesday to Saturday, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.
