Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Liaison to join our team at the City of Tacoma, WA. This role will play a critical part in developing and implementing a city-wide litter education program, building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating cleanup efforts in the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive litter education program to promote community awareness and engagement in litter reduction efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, businesses, and government agencies, to promote collaboration and coordination on litter reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate cleanup efforts in the city, including organizing community events, coordinating with cleanup organizations, and providing supplies and support to community-based cleanup initiatives.
  • Manage the Adopt-a-Spot and Litter Patrol Programs, including developing and implementing program strategies, coordinating with program participants, and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Monitor and evaluate contracts for cleanup and graffiti services in the community, ensuring compliance with program requirements and best practices.
  • Collect and analyze data to document program results, identify areas for improvement, and inform program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, or social/human services.
  • 2 years of professional program work in human or social services administration.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and populations, with a strong understanding of equity and inclusion principles.
