Role Summary:

As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will be an integral part of our surgical team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care during surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a sterile environment, preparing operating rooms, and assisting in the overall surgical process to enhance patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support surgical teams in maintaining a sterile operating environment, utilizing your training and expertise.
  • Gather, verify, and prepare necessary surgical supplies, instruments, and medications for each procedure.
  • Assist in draping and establishing the sterile field to ensure patient safety.
  • Manage and secure all sterile accessories, including tubing and cords.
  • Anticipate and prepare additional instruments and supplies required during surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications and solutions as directed by the surgical team.
  • Assist surgeons by holding instruments and retractors as needed.
  • Perform suctioning and sponging of the surgical site as delegated.
  • Handle sutures and manage their application during procedures.
  • Uphold the highest standards of sterile technique throughout all surgical interventions.
  • Prepare instruments for terminal sterilization post-procedure.
  • Restock and maintain surgical rooms for upcoming procedures.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of surgical instruments to ensure their integrity.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: One or more years of experience in an operating room setting.
  • Membership in a surgical specialty society is encouraged.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating schedule – Days.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate ranges from $35.00 to $42.00, commensurate with experience.
