Total Warehouse Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Freight Handler to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the transfer of packages and products from receiving trailers, containers, and railcars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transfer of Packages and Products: Use hand trucks or motorized equipment such as pallet jacks, pacers, or forklifts to move packages and products built onto pallets or racks for transportation from trailers, containers, or railcars to dock.
  • Pallet Management: Stack packages and products onto pallets or racks to unloading dock and shipping trailer, container, or rail car are unloaded, and then assign forklift for put away of product to assigned warehouse storage locations.
  • OSHA Certification: Must have ability to be trained on motorized equipment for OSHA certification.
  • Communication and Comprehension: Must be able to communicate and comprehend packaging labels and breakdown sheets.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as a team with great attention to detail.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Ability to understand basic computer skills to operate scanner for pallet designations.
  • Pallet Identification: Apply all pallet identifications labels for pallets or racks built.
  • Math Skills: Understand basic math (Block atier).
  • Lifting and Moving: Must be able to lift 50 to 70lbs from floor to pallet or rack to height of 6 foot.
  • Load Security: Assure stability of pallet or rack before transporting. Must take step to secure load by shrink wrapping or taping.
  • Shortages and Damages: Identify shortages and damages to lead or supervisor.
  • Teamwork and Safety: Be aware of surrounding to be sure fellow associates are safely away as you lift loads to storage locations.
  • Background Check and Drug Screening: Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Work Environment: Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications

Total Warehouse Solutions requires the following qualifications for this position:

  • Physical Requirements: Constantly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, balancing, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork. Occasionally lifting objects weighing less than 20 lbs. up to 70 lbs. and pushing, sitting, touching, reaching, climbing, pulling, and gripping.
