Job Summary

As a Truck Driver - Transportation, you will be responsible for delivering store materials to retail stores and picking up store returns. You will also make route calls for deliveries and pick-ups, as well as deliver and pick up wiping cloths, laundry, contract materials, and other items as assigned.

You will load and unload the truck with a helper's assistance, clean up collection sites, and keep records of calls and deliveries. You will also be responsible for maintaining the truck's oil, fuel, and cleanliness, and keeping in communication with the Assistant Manager of Transportation or the Manager of Logistics by phone.

You will be responsible for tools and machines used, truck dollies, and equipment for moving and securing materials. You will also be responsible for directing the truck helper and adhering to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Transportation manual.

This is a full-time position, normally working eight hours per day, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of working some afternoons or weekends based on the needs of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver store materials to retail stores and pick up store returns
  • Make route calls for deliveries and pick-ups
  • Deliver and pick up wiping cloths, laundry, contract materials, and other items as assigned
  • Load and unload the truck with a helper's assistance
  • Clean up collection sites and keep records of calls and deliveries
  • Maintain the truck's oil, fuel, and cleanliness
  • Keep in communication with the Assistant Manager of Transportation or the Manager of Logistics by phone
  • Direct the truck helper and adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Transportation manual
Requirements
  • Elementary school education required
  • High school diploma or equivalent helpful but not required
  • Tow motor license preferred but not required
  • Ability to read standard business English, record information, and utilize basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to meet the current law requirements of the Department of Transportation regarding health and safety
  • Ability to adhere to Universal Precautions and contact supervisor for clean-up of any waste regulated by Blood-borne pathogens standard
Work Environment

This position will work primarily outdoors, with some indoor work in the warehouse or office. The employee will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions.

The employee will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.

The employee will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, and reporting any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
