Job Summary

Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineering Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of a department, ensuring timely delivery of services and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements.
  • Proposal Development: Supervise the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability.
  • Department Operations: Supervise the daily operations of a department, including staff training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Business Development: Plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain client relationships.
  • Staff Management: Develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding, with support from the Division Manager.
  • Annual Business Planning: Prepare and execute annual business plans for the department, with support from the Division Manager.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Oversee and manage the success of key department metrics, including revenue growth, staff charge-ability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
  • Risk Management: Develop understanding and awareness of project-related risk, and be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring team members follow safety rules and guidelines, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, monitoring quality standards and practices, and engaging the Division Manager on projects at their onset.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline practiced by the Firm, including Engineering or Geology, and 5 years' practice experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Certification or licensure in the field of expertise.
