Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is seeking a Senior Avionics Technician.
Position Overview:
This role involves leading and supporting a team of technicians in the execution of avionics installations. Responsibilities include fabricating wire harnesses, installing, terminating, and conducting functional tests of avionics and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Directs the work of technicians, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Collaborates with other departments to guarantee the on-time delivery of aircraft.
- Installs, modifies, and fabricates wiring and electrical components in accordance with technical documents and engineering specifications.
- Mentors team members in their tasks, utilizing expertise to enhance employee development and improve techniques. Completes assignments in innovative and efficient manners.
- Assists the Engineering team in troubleshooting issues and executing repairs as directed.
- Keeps accurate logs and records of work performed.
- Ensures all work meets relevant regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Implements the company's FOD program, tool control measures, 5-S methodology, and adheres to all safety protocols.
- Reviews all work, including that of peers, to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintains and cares for shop tools and equipment as designated by the Supervisor.
- Facilitates shift transitions in the absence of the team leader.
- Engages in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., YIAW, Kaizen events).
- Provides support and coverage for the team coordinator as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of two (2) years of accredited training in aviation electronics along with two (2) years of relevant work experience; or four (4) years of experience in an avionics or electronics field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematic diagrams.
Other Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual, and relevant Process Specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new tasks with minimal disruption to established goals and schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficient computer keyboard skills are required.

Compensation: The estimated pay rate for this position is $32.19 per hour.
